A house with Gothic roots
Restaurant Michal is situated in one of the oldest parts of historic Prague, on the right bank of the Vltava river in Náprstkova Street, only a few steps from the stone arches of Charles Bridge. After time spent over great food and drink, the bridge invites you for a pleasant stroll with beautiful views of the Prague Castle skyline.
The building was rebuilt in the Art Nouveau style in the second half of the 19th century, yet the interior of the restaurant shows that its roots go back to the early Gothic period. Further evidence of this is Boršov, one of the oldest streets in Prague, which runs right alongside the restaurant.
How to find usLive folklore
Original folklore show
In the evening hours, the restaurant hosts a live folklore show performed by Alexandr Vrábel's dulcimer band and our dancers in traditional costumes.
The show starts at 7 pm and finishes at 10 pm. During the evening you will see a cross-section of folklore from most of the ethnographic regions of Bohemia, Moravia and Slovakia. At the end, guests are welcome to sing their own favourite songs.
Thank you for the wonderful performance by Czech artists. It was unreal.
When we come back to Prague, we certainly won't miss a visit to your restaurant, where the dancers perform things never seen before…
It's unbelievable how wonderful the singer's voice is. And the musicians can play just about anything!
An experienced dulcimer band led by first violinist Alexandr Vrábel plays throughout the evening.
